Getting Started
A week-by-week guide to your first month in sweepstakes casinos - from signing up to your first cash redemption.
So you've read the basics of how sweepstakes casinos work. Now what? This guide walks you through a realistic first month - from signing up at your first casino to collecting your first redemption. No fluff, just the steps in order.
Week 1: Sign Up Everywhere
Your first week is about one thing: creating accounts. The more casinos you're signed up at, the more daily rewards you collect, the more sales you see, and the more opportunities you have.
What to do:
- Browse our casino list and sign up at every casino rated "Good" reputation or higher
- Use your real information. Every casino will eventually require KYC (identity verification) before you can redeem, and your name needs to match your ID
- Set a strong, unique password for each site. A password manager is not optional if you're managing 20+ casino accounts
- Complete email verification on every site
What to expect:
- Signing up at 20-30 casinos takes a few hours spread across a day or two
- Most sites will give you a small welcome bonus in SC just for creating an account
- Some sites are clunky or confusing. That's normal. The quality of the website has very little correlation with the quality of the deals
Pro tip: Keep a spreadsheet or use our profit tracker from day one. It's much harder to start tracking retroactively than to track as you go.
Week 1-2: Build the Daily Reward Habit
Once your accounts are created, start collecting daily rewards. This is the foundation of sweeps casino profitability and the only part that requires literally zero risk.
How daily rewards work:
- Most casinos give you free SC just for logging in each day. Amounts range from 0.10 SC to 1.00 SC per casino
- Some casinos have streak bonuses that increase your reward for consecutive daily logins
- A few have spin wheels or other bonus mechanisms on top of the flat daily reward
Setting up your routine:
- Open all your casino sites in browser tabs and log in to each one. Collect the daily reward, close the tab, move to the next
- This should take 10-20 minutes depending on how many casinos you have
- Do this every day. Consistency matters - especially for streak-based bonuses
- Bookmark your casinos or keep them in a folder for quick access
The math at scale:
- If you collect an average of 0.50 SC per day across 25 casinos, that's 12.50 SC per day
- Over 30 days, that's 375 SC - $375 in redeemable value, minus your playthrough losses
- On a 97% RTP wash game with 1x playthrough, your expected loss is about 11 SC
- Net: roughly $364/month in profit from free daily rewards alone These numbers are approximate and vary by which casinos you use, but the point is clear: daily rewards are real money if you're disciplined about collecting them.
Week 2: Complete KYC Early
Don't wait until you're ready to redeem to verify your identity. Do it early so there are no surprises.
Why verify early:
- KYC review can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days
- If there's an issue with your documents, you want time to resolve it before you have SC sitting in limbo
- Some casinos restrict certain features until you're verified
What you'll need:
- Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport)
- Sometimes a selfie holding your ID
- Sometimes a proof of address (utility bill, bank statement)
- Your legal name must match the name on your casino account
Do this at every casino you plan to redeem from. Even if you're not ready to redeem yet, get verified now.
Week 2-3: Learn Your Wash Games
Before you start playing through any SC, you need to know which games to play at each casino. This is not the time to explore the game lobby and try things that look fun.
What to look for:
- High RTP (96%+ for slots, 99%+ for table games like blackjack)
- Low volatility (frequent small payouts rather than rare big ones)
- Our casino list shows the highest-RTP games available at each site
Common wash games:
- Blackjack - Often 99%+ RTP with basic strategy. Best for minimizing playthrough losses but requires active play (no auto-spin)
- Plinko - Available on some sites, usually with very high RTP
- Low-volatility slots - Games like Epic Joker, 1429 Uncharted Seas, or Blood Suckers (when available) offer high RTP with manageable variance
What NOT to play during playthrough:
- High-volatility slots with max wins of 5,000x+
- Games you've never played before
- Anything without a known or visible RTP
- Anything that looks fun or exciting (seriously - read the Playthrough Strategy guide)
Week 3: Your First Playthrough
By now you should have a decent SC balance from daily rewards. Time to play through and make it redeemable.
Before you start:
- Check the playthrough requirement for the casino (most are 1x, check our casino list)
- Check how much SC you have that needs playthrough (usually shown in the redeem section)
- Calculate your expected loss: playthrough amount x house edge of your wash game
- Open your wash game
During playthrough:
- Set a reasonable bet size. Don't bet your entire balance in one shot. A good rule of thumb is 1-2% of your balance per bet
- Use auto-spin if available
- Don't watch. Go do something else
- Check back periodically to see if playthrough is complete
After playthrough:
- Check the redeem section to confirm your SC is redeemable
- If you meet the minimum redemption amount, submit a redemption
- If not, keep collecting dailies until you do
Week 3-4: Your First Redemption
This is the satisfying part. You've collected free coins, played through them, and now you're cashing out real money.
Redemption basics:
- Most casinos have a minimum redemption of $50 or $100 in SC
- Common redemption methods: bank transfer (ACH), gift cards, crypto
- Processing times vary wildly - some casinos pay within hours, others take weeks
- Your first redemption often takes longer due to additional verification
What to expect:
- Submit the redemption through the casino's redeem/withdrawal section
- Wait for it to process. Don't panic if it takes a few days
- Once approved, funds will arrive via your chosen method
- Log the redemption in your profit tracker
After your first redemption: Congratulations. You've now completed the full cycle: sign up, collect, play through, redeem. Everything from here is just repeating this process and optimizing it.
Beyond the First Month
Once you've got the basics down, your next steps are:
- Evaluate sales: Start watching for promotional sales where you can buy gold coin packages that include bonus SC worth more than you pay. See our Sales Strategy guide
- Maximize credit card rewards: If you're buying sales, you should be earning rewards on every purchase. See our Credit Card Strategy guide
- Optimize your routine: Drop casinos with poor daily rewards or slow redemptions. Double down on the ones that pay well and pay fast
- Plan for taxes: Start tracking your income and expenses now, not in April
- Track everything: Your profit tracker data becomes more valuable over time. Monthly trends, per-casino P&L, and ROI on purchases all help you make better decisions
- Join the community: Our Discord is where sales get posted first, strategies get discussed, and questions get answered by experienced players
Common First-Month Mistakes
Trying to "win" during playthrough. Read the Playthrough Strategy guide. You're not trying to win. You're paying a transaction fee.
Skipping daily rewards because "it's only 50 cents." Those 50 cents are free and add up to hundreds per month across all your casinos.
Not tracking from day one. You will forget which casinos you've redeemed from, how much you've spent, and what your actual profit is. Track everything.
Buying sales before understanding playthrough. Don't spend real money until you've successfully completed at least one full cycle (collect free SC, play through, redeem) and understand the process.
Getting impatient with redemption times. Some casinos are slow. That's just how it is. Don't blow up your balance on degen spins because you're frustrated about a pending redemption at another casino.
